What we collect

Founder FingerprintsOS collects the information you enter and the information needed to keep your account working. We have tried to keep this list short, and to explain why each item exists rather than describing it in the abstract.

  • Account details: your email address, your name if you provide one, and a one-way hash of your password. We never store your password itself and cannot recover it.
  • Venture content: the ventures, documents, decisions, milestones, and notes you create. This is your work product and we treat it as yours.
  • Organisation membership: which organisations you belong to and your role in each, so we can decide what you are allowed to see.
  • Activity records: significant actions such as sign-ins, permission changes, and document edits, retained so you can audit your own account.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and timestamps, collected when you connect in order to keep the service secure and diagnose faults.

Why we collect it

We use your information to operate Founder FingerprintsOS, secure your account, and improve the product. Concretely, that means running the features you asked for, detecting suspicious sign-ins, and understanding which parts of the product are confusing or broken.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your venture content with other customers, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models that serve other customers.

AI features and your content

Some Founder FingerprintsOS features send content to third-party AI providers to generate a response. This only happens when you invoke such a feature, and only the content needed for that request is sent.

We ask providers to process this data without retaining it for training. Where a provider will not agree to that, we do not route your content to them. The AI Usage Policy explains the specifics, including which decisions we consider unsuitable for AI assistance.

How long we keep it

Venture content is kept while your account is open, because deleting your work is not our decision to make. When you delete an item we remove it from your workspace immediately and purge it from our systems, including backups, within 30 days.

If you close your account, we delete your content within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep specific records for longer. Activity records are kept for 12 months so that a compromise can still be investigated after the fact.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Most of this is available directly in Settings; where it is not, contact us and we will action it.

  • Access and portability: request a copy of your personal information in a machine-readable format.
  • Correction: fix inaccurate details yourself in Settings, or ask us to.
  • Deletion: delete individual items, or close your account and have your content removed.
  • Objection and restriction: ask us to stop or limit a specific use of your information.
  • Withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting past lawful processing.

Who else sees your data

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run Founder FingerprintsOS — hosting, database, authentication, and email delivery. They process data only on our instructions and are bound by contract.

We may disclose information where legally compelled. Where we are permitted to tell you, we will, so you have an opportunity to respond.
